NY Book Week comes to life as thousands of authors, publishers, and booksellers converge on BEA 2010
The annual migration of book people to BookExpo America every year, bringing over 1,000 authors together with booksellers, publishers, and distributors from all over the world to talk about books of all kinds and all formats, begins next week, May 24-28. And this year, for the first time, the organizers of BookExpo America have expanded the annual 2-3 day book trade event to a week long book fest, open to the public, called NY Book Week, consisting of readings, interviews, author presentations and book signings at various bookstores, auditoriums, and libraries around New York City. Among the authors that will be in town for the week's events are Scott Turow presenting his new legal thriller Innocent (Grand Central Publishing; May, 2010); Michael Connelly talking about his writing career and his forthcoming Harry Bosch thriller The Reversal (Little, Brown, and Company; October, 2010); John Grisham and his children's book Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer (Duttons Children's Books; May, 2010);Jennifer Egan trumpets the arrival of her latest novel, A Visit From The Goon Squad (Knopf; June, 2010); Jon Stewart introducing his forthcoming Earth (The Book): A Visitor's Guide to the Human Race (Grand Central Publishing; September, 2010). And keep your eyes out for Mary and Carol Higgins Clark, Bruce Feiler, Heather Graham, Chris Hedges, Oscar Hijuelos, Christopher Hitchens, Brad Meltzer, Jen Enderlin, and Arthur Nersesian among many hundreds more faces in the crowds.
