Everest trek-leader Linda LeBlanc came to the flatlands of Manhattan and the Small Press Book Fair in December, 2006, and read from her novel Beyond The Summit (Ama dablam, Inc.; May, 2006). LeBlanc weaves descriptions of Sherpa life and the Nepal landscape into a story about a woman who falls in love with her Sherpa guide and suddenly has to choose between the guide and her jealous husband.
